First moth trap catch for two weeks and it has a very autumnal feel to it! Square-spot Rustic, Copper Underwing, Rosy Rustic all indicate that autumn is on its way. While I was away a pair of Little Grebes with three chicks were seen on the top lake. This is a welcome return after many years absence. The renovation of the lake has obviously paid dividends. A Vapourer Moth, a day-flying species, was found on a window of the Library!
