Glorious morning with young Sparrowhawks mewing in the background. Quite a dew too as it was cold last night. Moth numbers are well down and not much set the heart racing! Nevertheless it was nice to see Small Phoenix and Common Carpet. They are both common species but don't often turn up in the moth trap. I think the very bright light (and heat from the bulb) must deter some of the more "flimsy" species from going in.
