26th September 2011

A week away and autumn has really set in with lots of colour. Lovely warm day; trip down to Lake 1 revealed a Grey Wagtail and plenty of Common Darter dragonflies. Swallows and House Martins have all but disappeared - just a few stragglers. Hope to have the moth trap back working tonight. At nearby Black Bank they have been recording lots of passing Meadow Pipits first thing in the morning, so it's worth listening out for them here too.
