25th June 2014

The evenings are still relatively mild so moth numbers are holding up with a variety of species - but nothing rare! Had a nice male Drinker last night.

The Phase 3 development sight was superb at lunchtime; plenty of Five-spotted Burnets but Burnet Companion was new to Keele as was Burnet-saxifrage. Common Blue, Blue-tailed and Azure Damselflies were common plus there was a Broad-bodied Chaser. Meadow Browns were very common and there was a Small Skipper and a Ringlet too.
