Despite continuous rain yesterday and over night there were 8 species in the moth trap - plus a few slugs too! Spent an hour by the top lake with students in continuous rain (good character building) and had several small flocks of Fieldfare and Redwings pass over. The allotment beds have attracted a Pheasant. It seems to like the bed that's full of weeds. A colleague heard a Brambling in Church Plantation - first record of the winter.
