Another frost-free night brought over 40 moths to the trap this morning. All the usual suspects ; Common and Small Quaker, Hebrew Character, Clouded Drab but also a nice Oak Beauty and two Satellites. The latter were one each of the two varieties; one with the the "planet and moons" in white; the other in yellow. Heard my first Chiffchaff of the year by Church Plantation.


Went to look at some of the early spring cherries at lunchtime. The next two months will provide a spectacle of colour. Some have been flowering since November but the spring ones are just starting. Here are a few:
