A lovely sunny day! Our early-flowering Rhododendron is earlier than ever! Plus sitting on it was the hoverfly Episyrphus balteatus or Marmalade Fly. The previous early date for this species in the county is April so this one is way ahead. It may well have hibernated and been brought out of hibernation by the mild weather of late. There were thousands around over the autumn.

Work continues on the construction of the new Nursery on the University approach road. I just hope that our cherries on the periphery survive the works!
